Setting Out on a New Journey

Haruki Satomi

President & CEO of SEGA CORPORATION

Constantly Creating, Forever Captivating

These words represent our most important mission.
This mission expresses our corporate group's raison d'être, our ultimate goal.

I believe that everyone who is now visiting this website has taken some manner of interest in our companies. This small beginning will lead to something much more significant. Let me take this opportunity to tell you about the inspiration behind our mission.

Every day, each employee throughout the group
emphasizes putting our mission into practice

By providing a wide variety of entertainment, such as video games, toys, animation, and amusement facilities to customers the world over, we evoke wonder, joy, and heart-moving emotions. Day after day, we take pride in sharing happiness with many so many people.
To encompass this process and express our mission, we have selected the phrase, 'Constantly Creating, Forever Captivating'.

A 'moving experience' is first created when customer anticipation starts to build for one of our products or services. 'Make' represents drawing upon our innovation to create something new and unique. As such, it's absolutely essential for each employee to emphasize putting this mission into practice every day.

Creating new entertainment has the power to change the world

Here at the SEGA Group, we have long valued the concept that 'creation is life.' This concept has lead us to bring a variety of innovations to our users the world over.
On the other hand, however, if we allow ourselves to become content with past successes, we cannot build a new future for our group. I believe that, by always looking to the future and seeking to provide experiences which surpass user expectations, we have the power to change the world. In particular, as the process of digital transformation rapidly advances, the world will continue to 'flatten.' This will result in unlimited potential for us to deliver content and services, as well as to expand our fields of operation. This, in turn, will result in the emergence of great opportunities.

In August 2018, we brought our scattered group offices together to a single location and now all of our colleagues in the group - more than 6,500 people - work together in the same place. This office incorporates my aspirations and features a number of optimizations befitting an entertainment business group, as well as including some playful twists throughout.
For example, our popular staff cafeteria boasts a spacious design as well as a varied menu, and after hours its bar counters also double as a socialization space for colleagues from throughout the group. And, as a venue for ongoing learning, our 'SEGA SAMMY College' offers substantial training programs, while our 'TUNNEL TOKYO' co-working space is highly acclaimed as a venue for promoting personal and technological exchange alike, creating new open innovation.
I firmly believe that productive exchange between colleagues of diverse values and backgrounds will enable us to 'make new entertainment which has the power to change the world.' This will lead us to implement more workplace innovations moving forward.

This June, we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the foundation of 'SEGA,' the core of our group. In human terms, one's 60th birthday is an occasion to reflect upon the long history which one has built. Likewise, we consider this major milestone an opportunity to celebrate our past triumphs, while setting forth with great enthusiasm to create many more accomplishments in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message today. If you feel motivated to join us on a challenging journey into whatever the future holds, I invite you to get in touch.
I look forward to seeing many applications from those of you with a sense of adventure, a willingness to take on challenges and love of discovery.

I hope to meet you one day as part of our team.
